The C.C. Sharrow Company was formed in 1952 by “Shorty” Sharrow. As the company grew over the years, Shorty’s three sons (Clarence, Larry, and Bob) officially joined the company. By the early 1970’s the brothers bought out their father and kept the Sharrow tradition going.
As the Sharrow brothers neared retirement, and with no immediate family in the business, they formed an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) to allow the employees to purchase the company from them. The ESOP was put in place in 1994, and by the year 2000, the company was 100% Employee Owned, and for the first time, Sharrowless.
In 2003, C.C. Sharrow Company, Inc. purchased Federal Crane & Hoist and made it an operating division of C.C. Sharrow. At this time, our standard rigging division was renamed to “Sharrow Cable & Lifting Products” to show respect to the name that gave this company legs, and for marketing purposes to instill into the name what it is that we sell. We are now the 1-stop shop for solutions for all of our customers’ lifting issues. |
